If you're planning to run the 2019 Ascension Seton Austin Marathon on Feb. 17, keep an eye out for a certain celebrity — Lance Armstrong was just named this year's Austin Gives Miles Charity Chaser for 2019.

This is the fifth anniversary of the Charity Chaser program, where a local celebrity starts the marathon last and raises money for each runner he or she passes. Former Charity Chasers have included CBS Austin Chief Meteorologist Chikage Windler and Sports Director for Spectrum News Ricky Doyle.

“Training for the Austin Marathon has begun and I’m ready to amplify the positive effects Austin Gives Miles and its official charities have on our community,” Armstrong said.

The Austin Gives Miles goal for 2019 is to raise over a million dollars for local Central Texas charities. Learn more about the program and Armstrong's involvement at youraustinmarathon.com.
