Lidia Bastianich is taking Austin by storm next week.

The Emmy Award-winning TV host and restaurateur will be in Austin for a trio of events over two days that are open to the public.

The first is a free book signing event from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Whole Foods Market downtown, where the author of 13 books will sign her latest "My American Dream: A Life of Love, Family and Food."

The next day, she's the special guest at a sold-out fundraiser dinner with the Austin Food & Wine Alliance at L'Oca d'Oro on Thursday night, but from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 8, she's the featured guest at a luncheon honoring women in the culinary industry that will take place at 1501 E. Seventh St.

You can still buy tickets ($125, austinfoodwinealliance.org) to this fundraiser for the local chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier and the Austin Food & Wine Alliance. The event will feature cocktail reception, an on-stage conversation with Bastianich and three courses with wine pairings from Shawn Cirkiel, chef/owner of Parkside Projects. Bastianich will be signing copies of her book at the luncheon.

In 2017, Bastianich, the host of "Lidia’s Kitchen" on PBS, became the 14th recipient of the Les Dames d’Escoffier Grande Dame Award that honors a lifetime of outstanding professional achievement, excellence and charitable/community contributions within the culinary industry. Proceeds from the luncheon will go toward Les Dames culinary scholarships and AFWA's culinary grants.
