Candy corn has become one of the most divisive foods of our time, easily up there, controversy-wise, with eating meat at all, or how cilantro tastes.

And according to this map from the folks at thedaringkitchen.com, Texans are just not into candy corn.

Using trends software with access to geotagged twitter data, the site looked at data from the entire month of October. Over 100,000 geotagged tweets were tracked about "candy corn" and over 50,000 revealed an opinion on the candy.

This data was mapped to show which states are "pro-candy corn" and which are "anti-candy corn." More states like the waxy candy than not: 28 versus 22.

Women like candy corn slightly more, the data show, as they accounted for 54 percent of the positive tweets.

Speaking of all things sweet, it turns out that Texans are way into Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (as are Kansans, Oregonians and folks from Wyoming), according to online candy retailer CandyStore.com, which examines the most popular Halloween candy purchases by state.
