Last year, we wrote about Any Baby Can's participation in the Nurse-Family Partnership. The program pairs first-time pregnant mothers with a nurse who would see mom and baby through her pregnancy and the first two years of the baby's life. The nurse meets with the family every two weeks and sets goals for the family that can be about their baby’s health or milestones or about the mom’s life.

Recently, Any Baby Can has been able to double the number of nurses it has in the program from 8 to 16. The waiting list, which was 50 to 60 moms-to-be long, is now zero.

Any Baby Can received a grant of $432,000 from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and an $80,000 grant from Impact Austin to double the number of nurses.

Recently 35 moms and their babies graduated from the program.
