Immersive "selfie experiences" have become a national trend this year, functioning as traveling art exhibits for the Instagram-centric set who crave inventive backdrops and crazy colors. Now through the end of the year, Austin is hosting two such experiences.
The FOMO Factory, a 4,000-square-foot space that features bright rooms with themes such as classroom, playground and summer vacation, opened in Austin Sept. 14 and has extended its run through the end of December. It's located at 720 Red River; tickets are $23 for adults, $15 for children under 12 and free for children under 3. Learn more at thefomofactory.com.
Another selfie experience, the Art of Ice Cream, opened last weekend at 3208 S. Congress Ave. and also runs through December. Expect rooms with themes such as banana split, popsicle paradise and Neapolitan beach. Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 ages 4-12 and free for children 3 and under.
