Broadway legend Chita Rivera has been added to the Austin birthday tribute for Texas-bred playwright Terrence McNally at Zach Theatre in November.

Rivera starred in McNally’s “Kiss of the Spider Woman” (1992) and “The Rink” (1984) as well as Broadway hits from “West Side Story” (1957) and “Bye Bye Birdie” (1960) to “Sweet Charity” (1967) and “Chicago” (1975).

Also joining Rivera onstage at the Topfer Theatre on Nov. 12 will be Donna Murphy (“Passion,” “The King and I,” “Hello, Dolly!”) as well as the previously announced F. Murray Abraham, Richard Thomas and John Glover.
