Mando Rayo & Jarod Neece, the taco-obsessed duo that penned the “Tacos of Texas” and “Austin Breakfast Tacos” books, have teamed up with Indie Lens Storycast, a YouTube channel in partnership with PBS Digital Studios, for "Tacos of Texas," a series of short docs celebrating tacos all over the Lone Star State.
The first episode fittingly explored the greatness that is the migas taco in Austin, the city where the two men reside. Watch that video below, and head to the site to check out the latest episode, which aired Tuesday night. That episode featured tacos al pastor in Houston. Still to come this season: barbacoa in Rio Grande Valley (October 9), puffy tacos in San Antonio (October 16), breakfast tacos in Corpus Christi (October 23), modern Mexican in Dallas (October 30) and carnitas in El Paso.
"It's great to showcase the different styles of tacos in Texas and share the stories of the tacos, but most importantly, they are about the people that make them, the culture, and our traditions," series producer Rayo said.
The “Tacos of Texas” episodes are streamed on the Indie Lens Storycast Youtube channel and people can subscribe and view the episodes at StoryCastDocs.com.
