Want a closer look at the campaigns of the Texas candidates for the U.S. Senate, Ted Cruz and Beto O'Rourke? The Blanton Museum is hosting a special screening of Austin filmmaker Steve Mims' documentary. "Run Like the Devil" gives "the amazing inside story of the most important Texas election in 26 years," according a summary of the film. Although the Blanton is no longer accepting additional registrations to attend the screening, a limited number of free tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the door.
2. "Once” at Zach Theatre

Based on the 2007 Academy Award-winning film, the musical “Once,” as produced by Zach Theatre, is an enchanting modern love story about an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant who are drawn together by their shared love of music. Their unexpected friendship turns into a romance heightened by the raw emotion of their songs. The production features breathtaking melodies by Glen Hansard of the Irish band the Frames that will have you falling in love at the very first note.
3. Phoenix at Stubb’s BBQ

The French pop outfit called their upbeat 2017 album “Ti Amo,” Italian for “I love you.” In Austin, the love clearly goes both ways; the band added a second show after the first swiftly sold out. It’s their first trip to Austin since an ecstatic “Austin City Limits” performance five years ago, setting the stage for a sunny synth reunion. The second night is already sold out.
