Following an eight-year run, the Dallas-based Tex-Mex restaurant Tacos and Tequila closed suddenly late last week, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. A post from September 27 stated that the restaurant was shuttered by the landlord with no advance notice following the restaurant's inability to pay the entirety of its rent. The restaurant located at Pressler and West Fifth Streets opened in 2010 and survived almost a decade despite its somewhat challenging location off the one-way West Fifth Street. The Dallas location remains open. The area was once previously home to another import from a fellow Texas town, Houston's Liberty Kitchen closed in the area in the late summer of 2016.
