Where to watch the Super Bowl in Austin

There may not be a Texas team in the Super Bowl this year, but whether you’re an Eagles fan or a Patriots fan (or just a fan of watching football, eating and drinking), there are plenty of places in town for you to watch the big game.

We’ve also got ideas for where to get the best lobster rolls and Philly cheesesteaks in town, but here’s a roundup of some of the top places to watch the big game around town:

BARS

Check out an east side bar like Whisler’s, which has a special themed menu and food specials, or The Volstead, which is offering free hot dogs and vegan chili. Craftsman  is hosting a chili cook-off featuring recipes using beer from local breweries, and The Brixton will be serving up complimentary Frito pie and popcorn.  Or sip on hot lemon ginger toddies, eat free food and drink $2 Lone Stars at The Sahara Lounge.

Buford’s is throwing an old-fashioned keg party -- buy a $10 cup and refill it free all night. Or if you’d like something a little fancier, you can reserve some private space at the W Hotel.

The Brass Tap in the Domain is showing the game on a 14-foot screen -- it’s $10 to reserve your spot, but the money will go toward your tab.

BREWERIES

Watch the game at Austin breweries like Adelbert’s, which will show the game on its big screen projector and offer $1 off flights if you show up representing your favorite football team. Oskar Blues is hosting a cornhole tournament for the big game, and Hi Sign and St. Elmo’s are throwing parties as well.

RESTAURANTS

Fresa’s on South First is offering free endless queso, drink specials and Super Bowl-themed snacks. Gourdough’s has 14 TVs and is offering free wings with every beer tower or beer pitcher purchase -- and honestly, what goes better with football than fancy doughnuts?

Make sure to check out our full list of Super Bowl dine-in and carry-out options from restaurants around Austin.
