UPDATE: Researchers investigating death of blue marlin washed ashore in Port Aransas

UpdateAccording to KIII, the fish was actually a blue marlin, and it later died. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi marine biologists are investigating its death. KIII reports that researchers believe it was underweight and consumed an item causing it to starve.

Original story:

Beachgoers gathered around in awe on Sunday after a swordfish struggled its way onto the beach in Port Aransas, according to a viral Facebook post.

The post by Breana Nafzinger got a lot of attention Monday after she uploaded two videos of a massive fish, which appears to be a swordfish, making its way toward the shore.

After the fish got stuck on the beach, a man on the shore helped the fish make its way back to the sea.
