The last time we saw Chewbacca, the hulking and hairy sidekick from Star Wars, things weren’t going well for him. He got wounded in a shoot-out. His buddy Han Solo … well, things didn’t work out at all for him. And he didn’t even get a hug from Leia.

What’s a wookiee to do? Join the Fort Worth Police Department, of course.

The Fort Worth police posted their own video of their new wookiee, er, rookie officer going through the paces on Wednesday on their Facebook page, where it has already gained more than 231,000 views.

Chewbacca is looking a little worse for wear after his rough time in “The Force Awakens,” but he still sounds the same and is still a serious threat to arms and sockets everywhere.

story on the Dallas Morning News entertainment site GuideLive points out that this isn’t the first time the Fort Worth Police have tried expanding their team with denizens of a galaxy far, far away.

Last year at this time, FWPD posted a Facebook video of a stormtrooper trying to qualify on the gun range.

That video encouraged potential officers — at least those with good aim — to apply for the police academy.
