Shiner’s new Texas Heatwave variety pack provides us a refreshing summer antidote

We’ve had a bit of a reprieve this spring from rising temperatures, but once summer brings the inevitable sweltering heat, we’re going to need all the help we can get to stay cool.

Shiner, that quintessential Texas beer brand, has one such solution: a variety pack stocked with three of its most refreshing brews. In the limited-edition Texas Heatwave pack, find bottles of the Prickly Pear, the Hill Country Peach Wheat and the Mango Kolsch.

Is your mouth watering yet?

The inclusion of Prickly Pear in particular is of note because devotees of the beer were saddened last year when Shiner decided not to make the summer seasonal. Instead, Shiner’s Strawberry Blonde featuring berries from Poteet, Texas, became the new seasonal — and this year, it’s also back, so we don’t have to lament the loss of any of our favorites.

The Prickly Pear beer, according to Shiner, is both tart and citrusy. The Hill Country Peach Wheat will be on the sweeter side. But if there’s one I’m intrigued about, it’s the Mango Kolsch, a new low ABV  offering brimming with tropical fruit notes from the addition of mangoes.
