The maker of Shiner Bock has made it to the big leagues with the launch of the brewery’s first Super Bowl commercial, a $1.2 million spot.
It’s the first time Spoetzl Brewery is debuting a TV commercial at this level, according to a news release — and the 30-second ad will continue to air around Texas throughout the rest of the year.
Shiner Bock has been one of Texans’ go-to beers for 109 years, and as more residents than ever move into the state, Spoetzl wants to continue being a boozy staple.
“The ad reflects how throughout the years, Shiner has woven itself into the rich history and culture of Texas and has become known to all for being familiar, friendly and welcoming. We truly believe that Shiner is Texas, and we want to offer all of these new Texans an ice-cold welcome,” Spoetzl’s director of marketing Gregor Mina said in the release.
And if you’re already a super big Shiner fan, you can enter a contest for the chance to win a private pre-game backyard barbecue at your home on game day, hosted by Shiner and featuring a live acoustic performance by country music singer Wade Bowen. You can enter the contest to win at shiner.com.
The Super Bowl, on Feb. 4, will be a match-up between two East Coast teams: the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots.
