Move over, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. Your new favorite Whataburger breakfast item may just be here.
The Texas fast food chain has announced its newest biscuit: the Spicy Strawberry Chicken and Sausage Biscuits. That’s right: spicy, savory and sweet. It’s the breaded chicken strip you know and love in between a warm buttermilk biscuit, topped with Whataburger’s new Spicy Strawberry Jam. If chicken’s not your thing, you can get a sausage patty instead, and if buttermilk biscuits aren’t your thing, you can double-up on the spice factor and get it on a Jalapeno Cheddar Biscuit instead.
The new sandwich is available as a meal or a standalone item from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. (that’s breakfast time, for Whataburger veterans).
I do have some questions, though:
- Back in October, I wrote about a way to get the elusive Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit 24 hours a day. Basically, just order a Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and ask for honey butter instead of barbecue sauce, and voila. Will this work for the strawberry biscuits, too? Don’t worry, you can be sure I’ll do some extensive research.
- When will Whataburger start serving all-day breakfast? I’ve been asking this question for years and I. NEED. ANSWERS.
- Will this become the new staple for breakfast lovers, late-night snackers and hungover college kids everywhere? Only time will tell.
On Aug. 8, 1950, Harmon Dobson opened up the world’s first Whataburger in Corpus Christi.
