Here’s what a Business Insider reporter ordered when she ate Whataburger for the first time

As wild as it may seem, there are still millions of Americans who have never eaten Whataburger.

In a July 10 article for Business Insider, retail reporter Kate Taylor detailed her first trip to the orange and white-striped fast food chain. Despite Whataburger now having locations in 10 states, the New Yorker had never tried their food.

Taylor reports that she took a road trip starting in Dallas and made a stop at Whataburger for a taste test. Here’s what she ordered:

  • Onion rings
  • Fries
  • Spicy ketchup
  • Patty Melt
  • Double meat with cheese burger

Taylor appreciated the dine-in service at the restaurant and enjoyed the spicy ketchup, calling it a “classic with a kick.” Regarding the All-Time Favorites selection she wrote, “Whataburger's patty melt lives up to the hype.” She also called the onion rings “well-crafted and satisfying.” According to her, she “wolfed down” the fries without taking a photo of them, though they didn’t completely amaze her.

As for the burger, Taylor writes “I wasn't yelling ‘What a burger!’ after taking a bite, but I did say, in a normal indoor voice, ‘This burger is pretty good!’”

Taylor’s editor apparently mentioned that she should’ve ordered taquitos since they are not a fast food staple. We’ll let y’all decide if they’re a must-try. Plenty of folks told her she should’ve tried a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. I mean, that just goes without saying, right?
