We have the lineups for two of the three free Butler Park shows during South by Southwest (moved to a new location because of construction at Auditorium Shores).
The lineup for Saturday, March 15, is being billed as “Take Me to the River,” and it’s packed with Memphis music. (Foster the People on Friday, March 14, was announced earlier this week. The free shows at Butler Park are open to fest registrants, wristband-holders, and the public with free Guest Passes , which are available in advance or at the event.)
From the sxsw.com announcement:
The influence of Memphis music legends will be felt across the board at SXSW 2014.
Head to the Outdoor Stage at Butler Park on the afternoon of Saturday, March 15th for a special Take Me to the River music showcase featuring Memphis soul legends with stars of today. The lineup includes William Bell, Otis Clay, Syl Johnson, Booker T. Jones and more!

Expect appearances from Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), the North Mississippi All-Stars, blues veterans Charlie Musslewhite and Bobby Rush, Ben Cauley and the Royal Horns of Memphis, soul singer Big Baby and rappers Snoop Dogg, P-Nut, Al Kapone and Frayser Boy.
