One of L.A.’s favorite coffee shops is coming to Austin

It’s almost time for your weekend drinks. But first, coffee.

Eater reports that Los Angeles-based coffee shop Alfred is coming to Austin, its first in the U.S.outside of California. The chain also has two locations in Tokyo.

According to Eater:

“The fashionable coffee shop is known for its Stumptown coffee, the famous phrase ‘But first, coffee.’ (trademarked and all, often displayed in fun neon on the cafe’s walls) and accompanying hashtag #butfirstcoffee, tile designs, tea, and breakfast burritos, all of which will be found at the Austin location. There will be an Austin-specific coffee sleeve too.”

The Austin location of Alfred will be located in Line ATX hotel, which the American-Statesman’s Matthew Odam reported will host “Top Chef” favorite Kristen Kish as executive chef at its centerpiece restaurant, Arlo Grey. Line ATX is set to open in late spring of this year.

Eater reports that the Austin location of Alfred will feature Texas-only drinks, including a matcha-shot-and-iced tea combo called the Green Eye and a latte called Oats and Honey, made with oat milk and local wildflower honey.
