Summer movies come at you fast — sometimes it seems like flicks, even good ones, are in theaters one week and gone the next. Here are six good ones that are still around.

bullet proof soul

“Wonder Woman.” Currently sitting on a stunning world-wide gross of $786 million (divided almost precisely in half between foreign and domestic, an unusual feat these days), “Wonder Woman” is single-handedly bringing the DC superhero movies into critical respectability and smashing records at the same time. The amazing Amazon can’t be stopped; you can only hope to contain her. I mean, look at this and try not to get verklempt.

“Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.” Yep, this one is hitting discount theaters now. Chris Pratt and his wisecracking interstellar crew go up against Ego, the Living Planet.

“The Big Sick.” A star-making performance for actor/comedian Kumail Nanjiani, who co-wrote this romantic comedy with his wife, Emily V. Gordon, about their real-life romance, which involved Emily going into a coma as he meets her parents for the first time.

“Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Between this and “Wonder Woman” and “Guardians,” this summer’s superhero movies are that rarest of birds: actual good movies. Tom Holland is the best Peter Parker yet, Robert Downey Jr. stops by as Tony Stark and Michael Keaton plays another birdman as the Vulture.

“Dunkirk.” Christopher Nolan directs a star-studded cast including Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and One Direction defector Harry Styles in this massive-looking war film about the Battle of Dunkirk. It’s easily one of the year’s best reviewed films.
