The San Antonio Express-News is reporting that George Strait’s enormous Santa Fe-style home overlooking The Dominion is for sale.
The posh community on the northwest side of San Antonio along Interstate 10 has long been home to the city’s wealthy, including players for the San Antonio Spurs.
The listing for the home boasts that it was built by acclaimed Arizona designer Bill Tull, with 14 hand-sculpted fireplaces, saguaro cactus rib shutters and imported adobe among the 7,925 square feet of home atop the secluded 12.2 acres overlooking both downtown San Antonio and the Hill Country.
And custom murals. And an infinity pool. And a “lavish owner’s retreat.” And much more in the realm of lifestyles of the rich and famous.
While the listing does not confirm it is Strait’s home, the Express-News reports “the Bexar County Appraisal District listed the owner of the home as George Strait until 2007, when it was transferred to the ownership of Southbound Trust. Publicly available documents related to the property name George and Norma Strait as co-trustees of Southbound Trust.”
A search of the Bexar County tax records shows the house has an appraised value of just under $4 million.
