Fourth of July: Where to buy fireworks in Central Texas

Fourth of July is here, so if you’re stocking up ahead of a fireworks display, there are a few places around town you can buy some bottle rockets and black cats. Most of them are American Fireworks stands, sure, but here’s a definitive list, nonetheless.

(Disclaimer: It’s illegal to possess, use or sell fireworks within the city of Austin and within 5,000 feet of the city limits. Please don’t break any laws.)

American Fireworks Superstores

These stores, which are a little different (OK, a lot different) than the stands you see on the side of the highway, are your one-stop shop for fireworks shopping. Also, they’re massive.

There are three locations in Central Texas:

  • 5150 Hwy 71 Del Valle, TX 78617
  • 8850 Camino Real Uhland, TX 78640
  • 1315 Hwy 71 Bastrop, TX 78602

If stands are more your thing, there are plenty American Fireworks stands in Central Texas. You can see a full map of roadside locations here.
