Don’t forget: Buy your booze before New Year’s Eve, because liquor stores are closed

Look, I know we’re in the strange vortex between Christmas and New Year’s when nobody knows what day it is or what time it is or what is going on. But I’m here with a very important reminder for you: New Year’s Eve is Sunday.

“OK, I know, duh,” you say.

But here’s why it’s important: in case you’ve forgotten, liquor stores in Texas are closed on Sundays, so you’ve got to make your trek to your friendly neighborhood liquor store either Friday or Saturday.

Unless, of course, the hard stuff isn’t what you use to whet your whistle -- you can still buy beer and wine at Texas grocery stores, convenience stores, drugstores or gas stations on Sunday, as long as it’s after noon.

Drink responsibly!
