An Austin woman is competing to win Arie Luyendyk’s heart on ‘The Bachelor’

A new season of ABC’s “The Bachelor” starts on New Year’s Day, and an Austin woman is laying on the charm to receive the final rose. Brittany, 30, is a tech recruiter from South Carolina, but she and her corgi currently call Austin home.

She’s competing to win the heart of 36-year-old Arie Luyendyk Jr. from Emily Maynard’s season of “The Bachelorette,” where he was nicknamed the “Kissing Bandit” for, well, obvious reasons. He kissed a lot of girls.
