An Austin woman is competing to win Arie Luyendyk’s heart on ‘The Bachelor’

A new season of ABC’s “The Bachelor” starts on New Year’s Day, and an Austin woman is laying on the charm to receive the final rose. Brittany, 30, is a tech recruiter from South Carolina, but she and her corgi currently call Austin home.

She’s competing to win the heart of 36-year-old Arie Luyendyk Jr. from Emily Maynard’s season of “The Bachelorette,” where he was nicknamed the “Kissing Bandit” for, well, obvious reasons. He kissed a lot of girls.

Luyendyk, a racecar driver, told “People” that he fell for two women on the upcoming season

Is one of those two people Brittany?

Well, in the teaser for the first episode, our hometown girl challenges him to a race and talks about his luscious lips (he is the Kissing Bandit, after all) before scoring a kiss. But no word yet on whether or not she gets a rose.

The 22nd season of “The Bachelor” premieres Monday, Jan. 1 on ABC.
