The holiday spirit continues with Circus Chickendog, classical concert

“The Mutt-Cracker (Sweet!).” Circus Chickendog is Austin’s original offbeat one-man, six-dog circus complete with a talking macaw and plenty of tricks like juggling and unicycling — and even juggling while unicycling by former professional circus performer Darren Peterson. Circus Chickendog’s singular adaptation of “The Nutcracker” is always a spirited favorite — a family-friendly show that keeps it weird and everlastingly entertaining. “LOLA at 4th: Holiday Spectacular.” Indie alt classical group LOLA stages its monthly show at 4th Tap Brewery Tap Room. On the song list are few holiday favorites and some opera aria classics. Featured performers include mezzos Claudia Chapa and Liz Cass; guitarist Arnold Yzaguirre; pianist Kyle Naig; sopranos Julia Tayor, Emily Breedlove and Lauren White Arthur.
