EAST: Temporary public art projects pop-up for East Austin Studio Tour

While you’re tooling around the East Austin Studio Tour this weekend and next, check out the temporary art projects installed as part of the city’s Tempo initiative.

A program launched earlier this year, Tempo commissioned 11 projectthat will be installed in Austin parks through summer 2014.

In Boggy Creek Greenbelt, “Albedo,” by Mason Leland More and Joel Nolan, features industrial plastic wrap twined around under the Pleasant Valley Road bridge.

Also in the Boggy Creek Greenbelt, look for “Below” a LED light display that gives a visual presentation to data collected about the boggy Creek watershed. “Below” is best seen at night and will be hosted from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and on Nov. 23.
