Andrew Zimmern checks out Austin’s Tex-Mex, barbecue and live music hotspots

Esteemed celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern is back at it with a new food and travel series, and of course the season premiere features one of the country’s most exciting food cities: Austin.

Host Andrew Zimmern talks to some BBQ fans that bring their own chairs because of the wait at Franklin BBQ in Austin, TX, as seen on Travel Channel's The Zimmern List.

The premiere of “The Zimmern List,” which airs Tuesday, March 13 at 8 p.m. on the Travel Channel, features back-to-back episodes with visits to Los Angeles and Austin. 

Zimmern starts at Franklin Barbecue (of course), then Fresa’s for Tex-Mex. He swings through South Congress, stopping at Guero’s for (more) Tex-Mex and live music. Then he stops at beloved Austin ramen joint Ramen Tatsu-Ya before swinging through the food truck park at 5000 Burnet for a poke bowl from Big Kahuna, chilaquiles from Tita’s and wild boar curry from The B’s Kitchen.

Zimmern caps off his trip to Austin with Stubb’s Bar-B-Q for a uniquely Austin combination of barbecue and live music.
