On May 6, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and local folk-pop musician Gina Chavez will host the JetStream Music Festival.

The virtual festival brings together 23 airports from around the country. Each airport will feature a performance from an artist in their community.

Festival viewers will be able to tip musicians during their performances. They will also learn about organizations assisting each community and hear from airport leaders.

"Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World. Typically, we have 31 live performances across seven stages in our terminal. Live music and supporting our local artists is who (we are), even during the difficult times," said Jacqueline Yaft, CEO of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in a statement about the event. "Airports are known for bringing people together, and we want to continue doing so even when you can’t travel. Virtual music is a great way to do that."

The party kicks off at 5 p.m. May 6 and you can tune via Facebook Live at facebook.com/AustinAirport.
