To help service industry folks make ends meet despite the cancellation of South by Southwest, the Eleanor, next door to the Roosevelt Room, is hosting a 10-day fundraiser. Bartenders and support staff around Austin can come work with a guaranteed minimum pay of $150 per person. Plus, half of all sales will be donated to the Austin chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild and to the Austin Food & Wine Alliance.


2. The Moontower Run 2020

Take to the streets and see your city in a whole new light with the Moontower Run, held every year since 2013. Participants will be running 5- or 10-mile tours of Austin’s moonlight towers and will finish with a post-run party at Rogue. But that’s not all: Finishers earn a limited-edition pint glass with beer to fill it provided by Sufferfest Beer Company. Austin remains the only city in the world to have moontowers.


3. Kick Open the Chutes with Rodeo Austin

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to walk on the dirt of a real rodeo arena or stand inside the barrel of a true rodeo clown? Well, now’s your chance to cross those things off your bucket list. Rodeo Austin’s Kick Open the Chutes takes place the night before the 15-day fair and rodeo and will have live music by Josh Ward and Stoney LaRue as well as food trucks, a cash bar and more. Wear your boots.


4. Circle Brewing Ninth Anniversary Party

Celebrate nine years in business at the North Austin brewery with live music from Josh Murphy and Mean Jolene, food from El Xolo Tacos and the Evil Wiener and, of course, lots of good beer. Circle will release some tasty casks that will only be available during the party, the first at 1:30 p.m. Pay $20 for a custom anniversary glass and three beer pours. Or feel free to buy beer as you go. Limited quantities of special anniversary party shirts will be available.


5. St. Patrick's Day Austin 2020

Prepare for an authentic display of Irish culture and pride at this St. Patrick’s Day celebration a couple days early. The bash at Pioneer Farms will have international and local stars of Celtic music on two covered stages, with the likes of the Prodigals and the Silver Thistle performing. There will also be the Camels and Critters Petting Zoo, traditional food and drink, and hayrides and carriage rides.
