Singer Acey Monaro of Austin indie band Go Fever moved here Sydney in 2013, but Australia remains near and dear to her heart. So it’s no surprise that she’s organized a show to benefit organizations battling the massive bushfires that have ravaged her home country in recent weeks.

Set for Feb. 9 at Cheer Up Charlie’s, the Aussie Bushfire Benefit will include a broad range of local acts. Joining Go Fever in the lineup are Sir Woman (featuring Kelsey Wilson of Wild Child), Matthew Logan Vasquez, American Sharks, Kalu James, Croy & the Boys, Zettajoule, Nevil, Sasha &the Valentines, and Sophie Ryan-Wood & Andrew Cashen. A press release announcing the event notes that “another major headliner will be announced in the coming weeks.”

Tickets, $20, are on sale now via the venue’s website. All proceeds will benefit the First Nations Fire Relief Fund, which assists with temporary relocation, clothing, medical care, and rebuilding and resettlement costs; and Hunter Wildlife Rescue, which deals with injured and displaced native animals.
