David Sedaris’ irreverent and cynical Crumpet returns in this Zach Theatre production. The outlandish tale of a Macy’s elf merrily jingles to life in this holiday cult-classic. Crumpet sarcastically expounds on the talent it takes to juggle tinsel, tearful tots and not-so-sober Santas at the most wonderful time of the year. J. Robert Moore stars as Crumpet. Zach’s other holiday shows include “Holiday Heroes,” which debuts Dec. 7.

The weekly true storytelling podcast and award-winning live show, hosted by writer and actor Kevin Allison, comes to Austin for one night of jaw-dropping hilarity. On the show, people from all walks of life tell true stories they never thought they'd dare to share in public. At this locally based installment, Allison will be hosting local storytellers including Mahani Zubedy, Jay Byrd, Allen Landver and “Shiny."

Shortly after performance rights organization BMI opened an Austin office this spring, it began hosting regular songwriter showcases at the Saxon Pub. The lineups have featured an intriguing mix of genres and styles, and this bill is no exception. Welcome Washington State’s Woodinville Whisky to Austin with a delicious multi-course meal highlighting the distillery’s farm-to-bottle rye, bourbon and port cask-finished whiskies both neat and in cocktails. Jon Trainer, the national brand ambassador for Woodinville, and Jake Maddux, the Brewer’s Table founder, host the feast.
