If the recent announcement of a Chris Stapleton concert at the Texas Rangers’ new ballpark on March 14 was a bit too much of a road trip to take on, good news: Stapleton will be playing the Erwin Center on March 12, the venue announced Friday.
The concert is a terrific triple bill, with Austin favorite Jamey Johnson in the middle slot plus an opening set from British country-soul singer Yola, who received four Grammy nominations this week.
Tickets go on sale Dec. 13 via the venue’s website. Ticket prices have not yet been announced.
Stapleton last played Austin in October 2017 at the Austin360 Amphitheater, following a 2016 Austin City Limits Music Festival appearance. He and Johnson were both on the bill at Circuit of the Americas when Willie Nelson brought his Fourth of July Picnic back to Austin in 2015.
