According to the Austin Chronicle, the Hard Luck Lounge, a no-frills East Austin watering hole known for cheap beer, a friendly atmosphere and a spacious outdoor patio, will be closing its doors Nov. 23.

The bar was more of a drinking establishment than a music venue, but they did host occasional music events, including a Tuesday residency featuring singer-songwriter Cory Johnson and a monthly Friday gig featuring UK piano man Henri Herbert.

Upcoming events listed on the club’s Facebook page include a Nov. 9 show with JuJuBees Swing Combo and Minor Mishap Brass Band and a Nov. 15 show from Bossa Nova act Nossa Novas.
