Movies in the Park.The Austin Park Foundation’s film series bringing beloved movies to neighborhood parks across town continues with a screening of the animated "Beauty and the Beast." Texas Focus: "No Country for Old Men." A cinematic exploration of the Texas narrative, the Bullock Museum’s Texas Focus Film Series highlights stories by, for and about Texans and this time screens an Academy Award winner. In the film starring Josh Brolin, Javier Barden and Tommy Lee Jones, violence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles across a drug deal gone wrong and more than $2 million near the Rio Grande. Shrewd Productions’ "The Madres." It’s 1978 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and people are disappearing right off the street. But one family is fighting back. As a divisive government turns neighbor against neighbor, Carolina risks her life to search for her pregnant daughter, Belén, receiving a surprise visit from someone who might have the key to finding her. Fall Vegetable Gardening at Zilker Botanical Garden. The Travis County Master Gardener Association is producing a gardening seminar about the milder days of fall, which create an ideal gardening environment when we should plant cool-weather vegetables such as broccoli, kale, sugar snap peas and more. Native Plant Gardening Series: Small-lot Landscapes. This class is ideal for participants designing landscapes with one acre of land or less, such as backyards and gardens.
