How popular is "The Lion King"? Apparently, it’s popular enough to still be the most-Googled 1990s film in the state of Texas, according to a new report at Frontier Bundles. The internet service provider looked at the Top 20-grossing films from 1990-1999 and then cross-referenced that list with which movies people were still searching for.

Disney’s tale of young Simba and his journey to become a king was the top 90s film in much of the southeast as well, including Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas.
Other states’ top films make sense for their locations. Oklahoma likes "Twister"; Illinois can’t get enough of "Home Alone"; and the Hawai’i-filmed "Jurassic Park" is tops in the Aloha State. But others don’t really make a lot of sense. "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace" is most popular in...Alaska and Mississippi. "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" is a favorite in Colorado.

The film that took the least amount of states was also a Disney film: 1999’s "Toy Story 2."
