A Houston brewery with a particular love of the city’s recent World Series-winning baseball team will begin distributing to Austin for the first time starting Aug. 6.

8th Wonder Brewery is launching a half dozen of its beers both on draft and in cans with the help of Brown Distributing, and additional brews will head to the local market soon after the initial release, according to a press release.

The downtown Houston brewery takes its name from the Astrodome, the world’s first-ever multi-purpose domed stadium. Though it’s no longer the home of the Houston Astros, the nine-acre shuttered sports stadium will undergo a $105 million renovation to make it usable again — and its legacy lives on also with 8th Wonder.

Cans of 8th Wonder Brewery launch in Austin officially on Aug. 6.

After opening in 2013, in a fittingly shaped dome-like warehouse, 8th Wonder has been producing beers with names that nod not only to the Astrodome but to Houston overall. (The brewery loves all of the city’s sports teams, too.) These are the brews debuting in Austin first.

Dome Faux’m, Hopston, Weisstheimer (named after a major Houston thoroughfare) and Rocket Fuel (a nod to the Johnson Space Center) are available year-round. The latter ale is draft-only until October, when seasonal cans will join the kegs.

8th Wonder launch events at a handful of Austin bars begin this week. Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden and Waller Creek Pub House and the next-door sports bar, Edwin’s, will host the first parties on Aug. 2. The Growler Bar, Craft Pride and Craftsman celebrate 8th Wonder on Aug. 3, and Whole Foods’ Domain location will round out the festivities Aug. 4.
