The fine people at My SA.com have asked an important question: Aren’t you or ain’t you not afraid of no ghost (town)?

In a piece called “Creepy Texas ghost towns totally worth a road trip this summer,” MySA makes the case that, well, if you are going to take a hot day trip in Texas, you might as well hit up some ghost towns. We agree 100 percent.

In case you were wondering what a ghost town is, MySA provides the following: “The towns have long been abandoned by its former residents but remnants of their existence remain in the form of buildings, monuments and forgotten history. Some of them are practically empty now because of devastating hurricanes, drought, dam breaches or economic collapse.”

The list includes such creepy former population centers as Terlingua, Lobo, Bluffton, Carlton and more.

Which raises an interesting question: Let’s say you don’t want to really get on the road, but feel like checking out some scary places.
