I am not old enough to remember when MTV was exclusively reserved for music. Long before the reality TV explosion, the "M" in "MTV" was the central part of its brand. CMT used to play music videos too, which I watched a lot of. I do remember Fuse’s heyday, though. Remember Fuse? Oh sweet, sweet pop-punk sounds of my youth.

Recently, music videos aren’t the talking points they used to be (especially in country music). For every "Lemonade," "This Is America," or the "emotion picture" of Janelle Monáe’s "Dirty Computer," there’s a hundred mass-produced music videos that you forget about the minute you’re done watching.
However, something that will always make people come back and watch: familiar locations. It’s why I paid money in 2015 to see Cameron Crowe’s "Aloha," just to see the section of Hawai’i I used to live immortalized on film.
