It was 1990 and Austin was a very different place.

The skyline was a fraction of its current silhouette. Glass Eye, Poi Dog Pondering and Pariah were still around. "Slacker," the movie that would put a certain generation of young Austinites on the map, was shot (in 1989) but not yet released. 

And the fine people at Austin Cable Access TV ran this PSA from a bunch of Austin servers on tipping. This is the only known episode of "The Austin Restaurant Show."
