Would you spend $100 for a margarita? Fleming’s Steakhouse is betting on it, especially once you find out what the drink comes in.

The upscale restaurant, located both downtown and at the Domain, will give you the chance to celebrate Cinco de Mayo lavishly this weekend thanks to the Prime Margarita, which will be served May 4-6 in a highball glass fit for a monarch.

No, really. It’s Baccarat glassware featuring diamond-cut crystal. Baccarat is a French  crystal manufacturing company that has been making specially commissioned items for royalty since 1823, although you don’t have to be a king or queen to drink out of this particular glass, the Diamant Highball; you just need $280 to spend on a set.

That’s how much a pair of the Diamant Highball glasses normally retail for on the Baccarat website, anyway. But Fleming’s Cinco de Mayo deal means you can drink out of the glass and then take it home in Baccarat’s iconic red box, according to a press release — all for that low, low price of $100.

Part of the high cost of the margarita also is based on what’s in it. Fleming’s will make the Prime Margarita with Tequila Herradura Selección Suprema and Grand Marnier Centenaire. And as the name suggests, the tequila, the world’s first-ever extra-añejo, is some high-quality stuff.

"Aged for 49 months, this smoothly enticing tequila was first introduced by Casa Herradura in 1995. Since its inception, it has garnered international awards for its delectable combination of the finest cooked agave, highlighted by notes of rich vanilla and dried fruit — a mélange ideal for pairing with Fleming’s signature dishes," according to a press release.

Fleming’s is located at 320 E. Second St. in downtown Austin and at 11600 Century Oaks Terrace, Ste. 140, in the Domain. For more information, visit flemingssteakhouse.com.
