Have you been guilty of visiting Dripping Springs brewery Family Business Beer Co. in the hopes of catching a glimpse of (or even a friendly greeting from) "Supernatural" star Jensen Ackles, who owns it with his wife and brother-in-law?

You’re definitely not alone.

Whether he’ll be there this weekend or not, you should make the trip on Saturday for two very good other reasons. The brewery is hosting a crawfish boil, and you can get a free beer to go along with your Cajun feast thanks to the launch of the annual Barks for Beers fundraiser kicking off on Friday.

The dog-friendly Family Business, like other new breweries the Brewtorium Brewery & Kitchen, Flying Man Brewing in Pflugerville and NLand Brewing Company at the surf park in Del Valle, is participating in Barks for Beers, which runs through May 31 like always. A total of 25 Austin-area breweries are helping out the good cause this year.

Here’s how the fundraiser works: Buy a special Barks for Beers pint glass from any of the participant breweries, and you’ll be able to get a free pour at each one. The money raised from the sale of the glasses benefits Divine Canines, a local pet therapy organization.

Many breweries are having a Barks for Beers launch party this weekend, but if you go to Family Business Beer Co., you’ll get lots and lots of crawfish. The afternoon includes 1,200 lbs. of the mud bugs, fixings to go with them and live Cajun music. The crawfish boil starts at noon and runs until 3 p.m. or until supplies run out.
