One of the bars integral in fueling Austin’s thirst for craft beer early on, the Ginger Man has opened a new location outside of the city.

The location at the Hill Country Galleria, in Bee Cave, doesn’t just have beer and pub snacks — though with 60 taps and a large bottle selection, the brews remain the heart of the cozy pub.

Here, the Ginger Man has expanded both the food and drink menus. The offerings include cocktails like the classic Old Fashioned, three styles of chicken wings, a charcuterie board and weekend brunch items like spicy chicken and waffles.

Austin’s original location of the Ginger Man, in the downtown Warehouse District, introduced many locals to the early players of the U.S. craft beer scene, now flourishing in part because of the influence of bars like the Ginger Man. 2019 will hail the end of an era for the pub: The downtown location is set to relocate to the redeveloped Plaza Saltillo site in East Austin next year.

Find the Ginger Man in Bee Cave at Suite T-120, not far from the galleria’s Central Plaza, where many of the shopping center’s community events are held. The Ginger Man is open 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Mondays-Wednesdays and 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m Thursdays- Sundays at 12700 Hill Country Blvd., Bee Cave.
