Gary P. Nunn will play KGSR’s “Unplugged at the Grove” series on June 7. NICK WAGNER / AMERICAN-STATESMAN

KGSR’s popular “Unplugged at the Grove” series celebrates its silver anniversary this year with five months of live music on Thursday evenings at Shady Grove, including longtime Austin favorites Marcia Ball, Alejandro Escovedo, Kelly Willis, Bob Schneider and Ray Wylie Hubbard.

The series, which begins April 12 with Shane Smith & the Saints, also works in a few up-and-coming acts, including Jackie Venson and Los Coast. Seven dates are still to be announced, including the final weeks in early September.

The music is free and begins at 8 p.m. Those arriving early and dining on the patio get preferred seating; late-arrivers often stretch out on the lawn adjacent to the patio alongside the retaurant’s indoor space.
