South by Southwest this year for the first time put together a two-day series of panels focusing on LGBTQIA issues featuring speakers from these communities. On Saturday, Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, who were the stars of a reality TV show called “The Fabulous Beekman Boys” and own a lifestyle brand out of upstate New York, joined Austinites Anthony Sobotik and Chad Palmatier, the owners of Lick Honest Ice Creams, to talk about what it’s like running a business with your partner on a panel. On Sunday, they hosted an ice cream party at Toms coffeeshop on South Congress, where “I Love You So Much” co-host Addie Broyles caught up with them about their panel, SXSW’s venture into gay programming and what has or hasn’t changed on TV since the Beekman Boys made their debut in 2010.
