The Fairmont Austin — now the city’s most expensive hotel, with a price tag of $370 million — opened just in time to host thousands of South By Southwest guests, as well as numerous panels and hosts this week.
The 1,048-room hotel even played host to this year’s honoree lunch and panel for the Texas Film Awards.

But some on social media Friday have already begun dragging the hotel’s interior design, calling it "terrible," comparing it to "an upscale Cheesecake Factory" and bemoaning the fact that the hotel cost so much for the amount of design that went into it.
