Want a taste of what’s to come at Odd Duck’s forthcoming East Austin sister restaurant/market, Sour Duck. The South Lamar restaurant is hosting a Saturday morning bake sale benefiting Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Sour Duck offerings will include peach and scamorza kolaches, bacon cheeseburger Parker House roll, Frito pie drop biscuit, pig face corndawg with dill pickle queso and many more savory and sweet treats. The bake sale starts at 10 a.m., but I’d get there about 30 minutes early if you want to ensure you get your top choice. There will also be flour from Barton Springs Mill and flowers from Prickly Pair Farm for sale. The last Sour Duck bake sale raised more than $3000 for the Central Texas Food Bank’s“Summer Meals that Matter’ program.
