Tuesday: Keeper at Geraldine’s. Last year’s excellent EP “Corners” was a departure from the throwback R&B vibes that defined the synth soul trio’s early work. The newer work conjured a dark and brooding dreamscape defined by ominous atmospherics. The entrancing vocal harmonies and moody grooves provide a fine opportunity to while away a steamy Tuesday night. Free. 9:30 p.m. 605 Davis St. geraldinesaustin.com. — D.S.S.

Tuesday: Heart of Texas Blues Challenge Finals at Antone’s. This annual Austin Blues Society event is designed to give a boost to area blues players who might not already be widely known. Two qualifying sessions were held at Antone’s over the past few days, with a handful of acts advancing to this final round for both solo/duo acoustic and electric band performers. The winners in each category will get a spot in the lineup of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January. $10. 9 p.m. 305. E. Fifth St. antonesnightclub.com. — P.B.
Wednesday: Bryson Tiller at Statesman Skyline Theater. The Louisville, Ky., R&B singer became a sudden sensation in 2015 with the release of his debut album “Trapsoul.” He surprise-released the follow-up album “True to Self” in late spring, then announced dates for a summer tour with H.E.R. and Metro Boomin’. $39.50-$49.50. 7 p.m. 701 W. Riverside Drive. skylinetheater.com. — D.S.S.
Thursday: Milligan Vaughan Project at Waterloo Records. For many Austinites, the electric blues rock of Stevie Ray Vaughan is our city’s signature sound. This project, featuring Storyville frontman Malford Milligan and SRV’s nephew Tyrone Vaughan (brother Jimmie Vaughan’s son), brings back the gravel, gutsy guitar and glory in a fresh new package. Free. 5 p.m. 600 N. Lamar Blvd. waterloorecords.com. (The group also plays Wednesday at Guero’s for Sun Radio’s “Texas Radio Live” broadcast with the Texas KGB.) — D.S.S./P.B.
