South Austin’s best wine bar is going for a more laid-back vibe with its new place. The owners of Winebelly are teaming with chef Cameron Stuerzenberger (formerly of Fork & Vine and Bess Bistro, among others) to open Phoebe’s Diner at 533 W. Oltorf St., a few doors down from Winebelly.

Phoebe’s Diner will take its culinary cues from classic American diners and also serves some barbecue dishes. hink buttermilk pancakes, fried chicken, smoked  pork ribs, smoke ham and more. Phoebe’s, which is slated to open in July, will serve breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The diner will seat about 90 people, and owners have plans to eventually extend a back patio area that will offer views of Gillis Park.

The restaurant, which native Texan Stuerzenberger says was inspired by his early years in the Metroplex, will be named after the chef and his wife Amelia’s first child, who is due shortly after the restaurant opens.
