Nearly a dozen venues in the Red River Cultural District have teamed up for Hot Summer Nights, a four-day stretch of free music in mid-July that seems designed to copy the January “Free Week” template for another time of year when attracting clubgoers downtown tends to be a challenge.

Set for Thursday to Sunday, July 13-16, the series will feature shows at Stubb’s, Mohawk, Barracuda, Empire, Sidewinder, Beerland, Cheer Up Charlie’s, Elysium, Swan Dive, Sidebar and Waller Ballroom. Full lineups are set to be unveiled soon, but a few shows at Stubb’s are already posted to the venue’s website, including Capyac on the outdoor stage on July 15, and indoor-stage shows with Abram Shook (July 13), Kiko Villamizar (July 14) and Major Grizz (July 16).
