Central Market’s 8th Annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Central Market presents its eighth annual event in partnership with Acadêmicos da Ópera and Las Monas de San Antonio. Expect 8-foot-tall traditional puppets, lavish costumes and Brazilian Carnaval music and dance to give you a different taste of Halloween.

KreweDMC Halloween Parade & Anniversary Party

Enjoy a stroll through the streets of downtown Austin in KreweDMC’s 10th annual Halloween Parade: “Midnite in the Court of Sound and Vision.” It is sure to be an elaborate affair; after-party follows featuring Wino Vino at Esquina Tango.

A Funeral for Austin

The Vortex, 2307 Manor Road

6 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The Vortex is teaming up with the Butterfly Bar for “A Funeral for Austin.” This event will pay homage to the recently lost parts of Austin that made this city so unique and special, such as music venues, coffee houses and restaurants. There will be live music, pumpkin carving (but bring your own), a spooky piñata and a costume contest.

#Slaughterhouse Film Roadshow

Dressing up not your style? Want to relax but still be in the Halloween spirit? Halloween at the Alamo Drafthouse is presenting “#Slaughterhouse.” In this film, a romantic getaway changes into a desperate escape as five murderous lunatics interrupt a couple’s vacation. Your ticket gets you into the screening and all of the preshow events – red carpet photos, games, contests, prizes and giveaways, meet a cast member, spot the killers, drinks by Deep Eddy Vodka, an after party and more.

Perpetual Groove & FunkOTron Halloween ’16

Let the Halloween spirit bring out that funk with a night filled with fresh beats. FunkOTron will open the show and, for the first time in five years, Perpetual Groove will make a reappearance in Austin.

Solstice Presents: CAPYAC Halloween Bubble Party

Hosted by Solstice Presents, this Halloween-themed party is sure to blow the competition away. Expect live music from currently touring band Capyac as they return for their homecoming show and a love fashion show from local artist Witchxxdoctor. Come dressed to impress for your chance to win the costume contest and take home some bubbly prizes.

Tele Novella LP Release Halloween Ball

It is sure to be the ball of all balls on Halloween night. Tele Novella is set to release its first record, “House of Souls LP,” and this live set will “feature spooky songs of haunted houses, wistful odes to longing for unreachable true love and vampy anthems that will chase you in the dark.” There’s also a costume contest, so get ready for prizes.
