KXAN has filled one of its two investigative reporter openings by promoting from within.
Brittany Glas, who joined the station as a reporter in August 2016, is shifting fulltime to the KXAN Investigates team, KXAN said.
Glas arrived in Austin after a stint as an investigative reporter and fill-in anchor at KSNW in Wichita, Kan. Both KXAN and KSNW are owned by Irving-based Nexstar Media Group.
Glas joins “one of the largest units of its kind at a local television station,” according to Eric Lassberg, president and general manager for KXAN and sister stations KNVA and KBVO.
“She has quickly proven to be excellent at uncovering information and cultivating contacts in Austin,” Lassberg said.
A posting for the second investigative reporter opening is currently up on kxan.com.
The vacancies were created earlier this year when Arezow Doost and Kevin Schwaller left the station.
Doost joined KXAN after spending eight years as a reporter at CBS-owned KTVT in Dallas. Earlier in her career, she worked at Austin’s Fox 7.
Schwaller was at KXAN for about three and a half years, coming here from a station in Springfield, Mo.]]
